Race Winner for Sale

For Sale:  Dallara F302/4   Renault Sodemo

Competition History

This car is a Dallara F302/4 with the chassis number 059.  Its an ex Hi-Tech car out of England, which was the factory Renault team at the time.  In Australia it was raced by Aaron Caratti in 2005 and it won the AF3 championship that year.  In 2006 the car was purchased by Maher Algadri and over the next 2 years was only used a handful of times.  In 2009 Tim Macrow purchased and rebuilt the car and did 4 races resulting in an outright win and a third at Sandown and  Hidden Valley respectively.

We purchased the car off Tim towards the end of last year with the intention of doing the Australian F3 2012 Forpark Scholarship series although a broken wrist a week before Clipsal meant Lockie had to sit out the first three rounds.  In the remaining 4 rounds Lockie scored two round wins and two seconds in the Forpark National class.   During 2012 the car has been very reliable with no mechanical or driver DNF's.

Vehicle Description

The Dallara F302/4 has a FIA homologated  carbon fibre tub and is fitted with a very potent Renault Sodemo F3 fuel injected 2 litre engine driving through a Hewland's 6 speed sequential (plus flat shift ignition cut) dog box.   The car is fitted with a control FIA wiring loom and Bosch Motronic ECU and logging system.   Safety features include the FIA crash test certification of the tub, plumbed-in electric trigger fire system,  Premier FT3 fuel cell and Sabelt 6 point harness.    The aero package comprises adjustable front and rear wings and powerful underfloor rear diffuser.   All body work is carbon fibre composite.

The vehicle is now offered for sale with a current  CAMS logbook and manufactures setup documentation.

The vehicle will be supplied with two sets of wheels with a set of slicks and a set of wets fitted.   The wets are near new having done only 7 laps at Phillip Island in race two of the September round.   The slicks  are also near new having done the qualifying session and race one and the final race at PI .    The wheel sets were imported new from EvoCorse in Italy earlier in the year and are in mint condition.

New brake pads were installed for the last round (at PI)  and are a PFC 05 compound which Lockie much preferred compared to the standard PFC 01 compound.   The pads exhibit minimal wear.  New rotors were fitted prior to round 6 at Queensland raceway.

A large range of gear ratios (18 ratio sets) come with the car to suit all tracks included in the AF3 Championship Series.

A Bosch timing beacon is supplied with the car.

The car will be supplied in a race prepared condition and will have a new Jabroc skid guard fitted (middle section) and new clutch friction plates installed.  The gearbox input shaft, drive shafts and front and rear stub axles will be crack tested prior to sale.   Engine has approximately 1550 km logged.

All set-up information as supplied by Tim Macrow and the data files and post race engineering analysis reports from Queensland Raceway and Phillip Island will be supplied with the car.

Purchase Options
This car has been rigorously maintained and has a proven competition record.   In the right hands this car will be a National Class winner in the 2013 Australian F3 Championship.

The car, spares,  pit equipment and trailer are all available separately or, as a complete package.   This package represents all the infrastructure required for a team to compete at either the Australian F3 Championship level or in the NSW State Championship series.   Driver coaching, data engineering, mechanical preparation and track support will also be available through 2013 on a round by round basis if required.

This vehicle represents an opportunity to compete at the highest level of Australian open wheel racing and is an ideal step up from Formula Ford prior to heading overseas or moving into Carrera Cup or DVS.
(F3 is a development category and is reconised worldwide as an important training ground for drivers as they have to develop the ability to work with their engineer to understand what the car is doing and then make small changes to optimise its performance.)
